What I learnt in RE 2015

Advent is getting ready for the arrival/coming of Jesus Christ.

The name advent come from the Latin word Adventurous = Coming/Arrival

ADVENT is the first season of the church year leading up to CHRISTMAS!!

The Jesse tree is similar to a Family tree.
The family tree of Jesus starts off with Adam and Eve

There are 4 purple candles and 1 pink candle
each candle is lit on each Sunday.

each candle have there own name.
Faith
Hope
Joy
Love

The Holy Spirit appears through wind, water and fire.

Jesse is King Davids father.
God choose David to become king after king Saw had disobeyed God.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit of Life because they were tricked by the snake.

My Best Writing this year (Term 4)

Learning Intention: To share an experience.
(2)White Sunday.

“ Kids time to Shine. ”

On a lovely Sunny/ Cold Sunday morning it was a time for kids to shine. A big event was happening at the World of Life church, it was the Samoan tradition called White Sunday. I was very nervous because there were over 100 people there but I had the courage.

Finally it was time to shine, I was very excited because  I was dancing and singing, It was an awesome day. We started off with Praise and worship, we sang lots of songs to honour our Heavenly Father.

After 30 minutes Praise and worship had finished and it was time for our Sunday school class items. My class had to go 3rd because it went by age groups. My class and I had been practising and practising for a long time, now we had to show the Crowd.

Eventually it was my class’s turn. We had 2 items to show the Crowd, a Skit and a Dance, we had been practising and practising now it was show time. As soon as we started I was scared because I was playing a very important part in our Skit.

After the Skit it was our final item, our Dance. We were very pleased because it was our very last dance we were dancing to Shackles by Mary Mary. We had finally finished all of our items, we were happy.

Last but not least White Sunday had finally finished and it was pack up time, I can’t wait for the next White Sunday. #lotuTamait

What I learnt in Maths

What I learnt in Maths:
The thing I learnt in Maths was how to solve subtractions quickly.

Example:
234 - 549

200 + 30 + 4 - 500 + 40 + 9

200 - 500 = 300
30 - 40 = 10
4 - 9 = 5

10 + 5 = 15

300 + 15 = 315

Visit to National Library

Friday 18th september 2015

On a lovely morning after Morning tea I was called by Joshua because of we were going to a lovely place near the city, It was the National library. What a surprise, we saw one of our teachers who left our school in 2012 it is Mrs Leaupepe. The reason why we went to the National library was because of we were invited to attend a reading conference. Our Special guest speaker was David Rilley he is an Author that wrote a book called Samoan Heroes it is an amazing story. The Samoan Heroes story is based on Mafui’e the fire keeper and Tihi Tihi and his father. Tihi Tihi’s father loves working at the old plantation, but Tihi Tihi wanted to eat a delicious fruit from the plantation but his father would not let him, he says that there is a evil creature living in the plantation. He does not like to be disturb.

Sadly the book had finished and it was question time. My question was “ What is your favourite book”. First of all I was scared to ask David a question but I had courage like Tihi Tihi and I stood up. After all our questions we decided to take a photo with David and we got a chance to meet him, He is an intelligent man.

Finally it was time to explore the Library. We started from the bottom and end up at the top we had lot’s of book in our hands we couldn’t get enough. It was time to go we waited for our books to get issued then we can leave.

It was about time we were all hungry so then we decided to go and eat a the palmers cafe in Meadow bank the food there was so nice and tasty.
It was a great experience. Thank you Mrs Kelway

My Speech 2015

Kia Ora, Talofa lava, Malo lelei, Bula and greetings to you all.

1.Today I will be talking about putting an end to Drink driving. To read about accidents in articles and also watching commercials and ads on Television, Most of the accidents are caused by alcohol abuse.

2.Many people go to bars and club so they can drink of the stretch and pain. But let me tell you something drinking is not the answer to solve your problems.

3.Over the past few years over  10,076 people have past away because of drink driving accidents

Issues : 1. We should stop Drink driving because it can not only kill you but it can kill others that are in the Car.

2. We should stop Drink Driving Because You can be Paralysed and even Brain Damage you might lose your memory too.

3. Choosing to drive Intoxicated is highly illegal and dangerous in New Zealand and in any country.

4. Drunk driving could result in court time or maybe jail time. You will even  lose your licence for a year, and the police will pound your car. That mean more money to pay your fines.

1.The Rules of drinking.

1.If you are over 16 and 17 you are only allowed to drink wine, beer or cider

2.The drinking limit for New Zealand is under 400 micrograms, If you feel you are over the limit the don’t get behind the wheel and let a family member pick you up.

3.If you are caught in a checkpoint and you are drunk that mean trouble time because of the police will breathe test you and if they find too much alcohol then they will arrest you.

4.If you fail the second breath test the cops will place you under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Last but not least kids when you grow up do not be an alcoholic, But take my advise and only drink on special occasions.

Gracias por Escucha and God Bless.

Tongan Language Week 2015

Celebrating Tongan Language Week with Room 7 was an awesome experience.
The thing that amazed me was seeing people arrive to school in their Tongan clothing, I have to say they are very proud to be a Tongan.
The Tongan food is so amazing, I could not get enough of it. It is so similar to Samoan Food I really enjoyed tasting Tongan food and I really enjoyed Tongan Language Week.

Last but not least I will like to say " Be proud of your own Cultural  and always represent your nationality."
Joshua 1: 9
Be strong and brave do not be afraid our discourage for I am the lord your GOD will be with you were ever you go.

Creatures of the Sea Here We Come!!!

Thursday 20th August 2015
Kelly Tarlton’s trip.

“ Creatures of the sea here we come!!!
On a lovely raining morning the whole school lined up early to get ready for our trip to Kelly Tarlton, we were looking very smart and tidy. The reason why we went to Kelly Tarlton’s was because of our school inquiry learning. Our Inquiry is about underwater and it is also about animals that live underwater.

We finally went to Kelly Tarlton. Finally we arrived and we were all excited we were welcomed by the people who worked at Kelly Tarlton's, it was so beautiful and colourful it was like I was in a fish tank.

Finally the walk had finished. We finally made it to our location, it was called Scott's Hut it was a copy of what the real one looks like back in Antarctica. It is near the Atlantic ocean. It was so amazing looking at all the old and warm stuff that are there in the hut, It reminds me of the World War II Hut.

The Hut is located in The North Shore of Cape Evans on Ross Island. The Hut has was built in 1911 by the British Antarctic and was led on by Robert Falcon Scott, but sadly Robert died in March 29 1912. Robert was part of the Navy he is the Navy Officer.

After our experience at the Hut we continued on with our underwater adventure with the school, I really enjoyed looking at the hut. I really loved it was my second time their at Kelly Tarlton’s.

Responds to Sean

Wednesday 12 August 2015

Responds to Sean:
I think Sean really made a good decision to make Shark Finning an illegal thing to do in any country because he liked sharks and knew everything about sharks and loved learning about Sharks. Sean said that Shark Finning was cutting the shark’s fin off and pushing the rest of the Shark’s body back into the ocean. Sean disliked  this thing happening and stood up for illegal Shark Finning. For a little kid like Sean he really shows us how much passion he has for shark’s.

Rainbow Fish Term 3

Thursday 6th August

~Rainbow Fish

  1. What I think about What Rainbow Fish did:
I think rainbow fish made a good decision        because of how he shared his rainbow scales with his friends. He was very vain and He thought he was so cool but actually he was showing off and his friend didn't like didn't like it .

2. Conclusion Message

The message that the story is trying to tell us is to not be selfish with your thing and share it with each other like how Rainbow fish did at the end.

3. Reasons
The reason why rainbow fish had to give his scales because of he didn't have any friends to play with and also no one wants to be friend with him because of he was greedy and selfish.

Hockey term 3

Wednesday 5th August

~Hockey Lesson 1

On a raining morning we were so cold. We Had just found out that we have kiwisport. Our kiwisport this term is hockey, we were so excited as we had never had hockey for kiwisports before. It was so amazing.

We all rushed to the hall as it was pouring with rain. We had to sit on the floor so we could listen to the Instructor. We finally did some exercises. To begin with we jogged to the end of the hall and back.

Just as we finished we had to do another exercise activity we had to do monkey craws it was so tiring because of my hand and my legs couldn't hold my body so then I fell to the ground.

After the exercises we began with a Marble dribble we had to dribble the ball around the hall. Finally we played a game of hockey if The Instructor calls out 2, 3 or 4 then they have to run round the goal then you have to get the ball then try and get a score.

From time to time the the Blue team was getting sore. But my team the yellow team was not getting any scores we always hit the ball but it always goes out and not in the goal.

Sadly the Session was over and the blue team won the hockey game we were sweaty and out of breath. We said thank you to the Instructor then we ran back to class.

My holidays

I had an  amazing holidays because I got the chance to sleep over at my cousin’s  house in Mangere.
It was a very good time sleeping over there because we had some other people sleeping over too . They are people from my Christian church. There were eight of us sleeping over.

I arrived there late in the evening.  My cousin greeted me and we went straight to the kitchen.  The other people were there.  We talked and shared experiences of our holidays

It was great listening to each others’ story. I really enjoyed it. We did not notice the time. At around 12.45 we had to go to bed. I did not want to end our sharing.  It was inspiring and interesting.

Instead of going to sleep we decided to watch a movie.  It was a great movie. Meanwhile we were sitting in the room waiting for the DVD player to work. It was a great movie.  We had snack throughout the night.
I fell asleep during the movie. I did not know what time the movie finish.

I did not sleep in even though I slept late. When I woke up the others were still watch movies.  I was very tired but I enjoyed the time at my cousin’s house.

Holy Spirit Strand

MONDAY MAY 11

Learning Intention: To identify how Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit
Matthew: 3:13 - 17
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.  The a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

The opening of the sky
Hello everyone as you heard Jesus the son of God is going to be baptised in the River Jordan, People do not know that Jesus is the son of God people just think he is a natural person that is going to be Baptist by John the Baptiste. Now Jesus is going to be baptized, Out of nowhere a beautiful dove flu onto Jesus’s Shoulder and then a shocking sound spoke and the sky unfortunately open, we could hear the voice of God and the voice said to Jesus “ This is my beloved son who I am well pleased”
That was a Amazing Scene
